Episcopalians believe that Sacraments are outward and visible signs of inward and spiritual grace. We celebrate two sacraments that were instituted by Jesus Christ: Holy Baptism and Holy Eucharist. These ritualized acts express the spiritual connection between God and God’s people.
Holy Eucharist St. Andrew’s offers Holy Eucharist at each regular Sunday service. People of all traditions are invited to the altar to participate. In addition, we invite children of all ages to share in the Christian meal of Holy Eucharist. Even children too young to receive the bread and wine come to the altar for a blessing by the clergy. From time to time, we offer special "early communion" classes, so that children understand why we participate in this sacrament and become familiar with its Biblical basis and with the Eucharistic vessels and rituals. Baptism As a general rule, we celebrate baptisms four times during the year: on the Baptism of Our Lord (January), the Easter Vigil (March-April), Pentecost (May-June), and All Saints' Day (November). Occasionally, however, we do schedule baptisms on other Sundays. To arrange for a baptism, call the parish office (781-631-4951). Special Services To arrange for a wedding, funeral, or other special service, please call the parish office (781-631-4951). 135 Lafayette Street / Marblehead, Massachusetts 01945 781-631-4951 / Fax: 781-639-7937 / officestandrews@verizon.net Comments or suggestions: webmaster@standrewsmhd.org. |
